Mel & Dave’s Winter Wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns
‘We wanted someone that would take the relaxed style of photo that we both love. I stumbled across Laura’s website and fell in love with her photos! My now husband hates having his photo taken, so it was imperative we found someone that was easy to work with and Laura was perfect. She is more than just a photographer, she’s someone you can ask advice on anything to do with the wedding! On the day she was absolutely fantastic, especially when I was stressing so much! She remained so calm and professional and made me feel relaxed. All our guests were saying how brilliant she was. I have to say that we couldn’t have asked for a better person to be part of our day. Our photos are amazing! If you want an amazing photographer to capture your perfect day, then look no further. Laura is just fantastic! Thank you so much for everything.’
~ Mel & Dave
I first met these two when they took a day trip down to Brighton to meet me. I knew from the off that Dave was the one I needed to win over as he simply hated having his photo taken, but still wanted beautiful photos. After a good ol’ cuppa and a natter, Dave said, ‘You’re alright, you are!’…*cue massive grin from me*. I know it sounds daft, but this was a massive compliment for me and I knew how nervous Mel was about Dave being comfortable with the photos side of their day and just by being me, I’d won this pair over. So, whilst it’s easy to focus on the bride for the day, I’m a massive believer that its a day for the both of you. After all, I need you both to help create what I do.
Surrounded by open countryside, Bassmead Manor Barns in Cambridgeshire played host to the prettiest winter wedding of Mel and Dave which had hints of red and purples throughout…oh and a little nod to a Stormtrooper for Dave’s love of Star Wars, of course! With bridal preparation in full swing in the Bridal Boudoir and Dave settled in nicely with the family in Appletree Cottage , I was soon nipping between the two to capture the goings on.
Before long the couple married in the rustic Rickety Barn a 300-year old barn full of twinkly light and romance. Guests nattered and nibbled in the Moat Barn an area full of gorgeous light with views across the pretty gardens and surrounding moat. The day flew by and pretty literally too as the November came in all manners from calm crisp air to gale force winds to horizontal rain and at last a pocket of early evening crisp sunlight.
Congratulations you two and thank you for trusting me! This was an awesome day!
