Magda and Clarence’s Autumn Wedding at The London Oratory

Magda and Clarence married last autumn at the breathtaking London Oratory (it’s the one right next to the V & A) and if you didn’t know it existed and you like your churches, go see it because it’s stunning! With a short guest walk ‘train’, we all arrived at Ognisko Restaurant for their reception. They chose the London Oratory for it’s stunning architecture and beliefs which are close to the couple’s hearts. Ognisko Restaurant was a must because of Magda’s Polish roots and they both loved the venue’s cosy, intimate feel amongst the bustle of London’s Kensington district. I love shooting weddings in London because it’s just so eclectic, urban and the buzz of London is like no other city. The wedding itself was an intimate affair surrounded by 65 of their closest family and friends who had flown in from all parts of the world – Madga’s side came mostly from Poland and Clarence’s side came from Australia! Magda got ready at The Ampersand Hotel with a few close friends, cups of tea and giggles. Clarence and his family got ready at home surrounded by his other love…his bikes and cycling paraphernalia…the man’s obsessed…I know Clarence won’t mind me saying that! Autumn was in full swing, so the couple candle lit their reception area which looking stunning against the crisp white table linen and flowers which were in autumnal shades of oranges, burgundy, yellows and peach. Outside didn’t let us down either as the leaves had fallen from the trees and gave us a gorgeous back drop to photos. Guests were treated to jazz music, cocktails and a delicious Polish dinner. Oh and vodka…there was A LOT of vodka and super cute kissing from Magda and Clarence, a nod to Polish tradition! I can’t not say a little about their outfits which Magda remained tight-lipped about but gosh, did she not look every each of Hollywood vintage glamour in her lace David Fielden gown?!!! But her groom was not about to be out shone and looked incredible in a sharp black tux. The best bit about their wedding day for me was Clarence’s entrance to his speech…donned in full tux and a swagger that would put James Bond to shame, he entered to the classic James Bond theme song and rocked it with a cheeky floor slide too…smooth! It was simply gorgeous how they included everything they loved and really put their stamp on their wedding – from their hobbies, to traditions, to cultures and everything in between. It was so much fun and relaxed but equally elegant and beautiful too. Magda and Clarence’s wedding was an absolute delight and I’m so pleased we got to capture it for them!
