Liz & Jaime’s ‘Us’ Wedding at The Brewery London
‘After scouring the internet for the perfect photographer, we came across Laura and fell in love with her photos. Meeting with her we were even more sure of our choice as she exuded enthusiasm, excitement and a real genuine passion for ensuring she captured everything about our day for us with as much fun and energy as we’d put into our day ourselves. She exceeded all expectations, not only did she capture our day perfectly, but she went the extra mile too. She also looked after us on the day and helped make sure we enjoyed the whole experience without missing out on enjoying our wedding day. We can’t recommend Laura enough, not only is she a fantastic photographer she’s a great person too. If you want a photographer to capture your special day in the most professional and personal way then don’t hesitate to book Laura, you won’t regret it!’

When Liz and Jaime first email me…”We try not to take things too seriously, so the day will be hopefully filled with laughter and nothing too formal, for instance we have Muppets of ourselves which will be incorporated into our decoration… Not bad likenesses we reckon! ;-)”….MUPPET-SELVES!!!!! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! This ladies and gentlemen, is music to my ears! But rest assured, I don’t expect you all to rock up with enquiries like this!
Soooo, as you can tell I was pretty darned excited when Liz and Jaime told me all about their plans for their wedding at The Brewery London. Its safe to say this pairing are big London fans who also love all things culture, so much so that they regularly blog their latest escapades as Culture Couple – be sure to check them out for some real gems! As such it was super important that their day was simply, but very awesomely, styled as all things ‘us’. I’m big on keeping your day personal and I couldn’t wait to be part of their day to find out more!
Liz and her bridesmaids got ready at The Montcalm London City, just a stone’s throw from the The Brewery London, whilst Jaime made some last moment venue checks before donning his suit. Liz looked the prettiest with vintage curls and a lace sleeved chiffon dress whilst bridesmaids complemented her in short navy lace dresses.
After a beautiful ceremony in the Upper Sugar Room, which have natural daylight through elegant feature Georgian windows that overlook the courtyard, guests mingled in the Lower Sugar Room which the couple had adorned all things ‘Liz & Jaime’. From a photo slideshow of the couple to favourite artwork to loved childhood games. This soon extended to dinner back in the Upper Sugar Rooms where tables were found by David Bowie album covers and place settings adorned with the couple’s favourite songs on a mini album, a chocolate spoon favour and even a mini easel with canvas, so guests could get arty as a keepsake for the couple.
Of course, I can’t not mention Liz and Jaime’s Muppet-selves who sat just above the top table – they are such a brilliant likeness to the couple (by the couple’s own admission, I might add!). Now, nothing could possibly get me away from the cake because it was just so fabulous and thoughtful. Not only was it a white wedding cake, but it also unravelled to show it’s Lego structure complete with ladders, tools AND ‘workmen’ – not any ol’ workmen either because Liz and Jaime managed to work all the key members of their wedding party, and even suppliers as characters on to that very same cake! Awesomely, I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was when even I made on appearance on there with my trusty camera, precariously perched on the top tier to capture that all important family shot!
Liz and Jaime are the most fabulously friendly, giggly and fun couple – it was such a pleasure to shoot there day, a day that was kept true to who they are as a couple and that was really awesome. Huge from-the-bottom-of-my-heart thanks to them also because a short time after their wedding, I received a little parcel…of Lego Laura Ellen complete with camera and working flash too – she sits proudly on my desk and makes me smile daily!
