Jen & Ashley’s Secret Garden Wedding

‘My partner and I are not ‘wedding-y’ or ‘photo people’ which are phrases poor Laura was confronted with over email and during our face-to-face sit down. Her candid images of other couples matched exactly what we were after. We needn’t have worried however as Laura put us completely at ease in the lead-up to and on our wedding day. On the day and via email beforehand Laura was there for us, offering helpful advice. Laura surpassed all our expectations and went above and beyond for us. We’re so grateful for all your help and efforts with capturing our day.’
~ Jen & Ash

People like Jen and Ash make smile lots. I think a big part of them dreaded being in the spotlight at their wedding but they kept true to themselves and what they wanted their day to be. They married at The Secret Garden in Kent, a quirky, fun and relaxed wedding venue nestled in the Kent countryside and among the prettiest of walled gardens too. I mean I say walled garden, but this one is pretty special as Jen and Ashley took their vows in The Gazebo and not only surrounded by their loved ones but also surrounded by the Wild Flower Meadow, Peter Rabbit Orchard and the Flower Cutting Garden….how amazing is that?!!! It was perfection!
The couple’s style meant they kept things simple and vintage with 50s style dress, a flower corsage, three-piece suite, milk bottle summer drinks, bunting and pretty garden flowers intertwined. The whole day allowed guests to be in the gardens throughout, even having dinner in the marquee with the sides open meant people could enjoy the glorious summer’s day and kids could play in the grounds too.
Capturing Jen and Ash was gorgeous and lots of fun. Ash has a thing for gurning…let’s call it a party piece! He was more than willing to bring on the gurn and having them both do it ensured lots of giggles!
