Ifield Barn Theatre Wedding Photography | Cathryn & Richard
There was something about Cathryn and Richard’s wedding that I adored and whilst I love every single wedding I shoot, this was just one closer to my heart. Why? Well, I’ll try to explain. Whilst this wedding was totally stamped with Cathryn and Richard’s personality, it was very much like my own wedding – a church wedding and marquee in comfortable surroundings – like most weddings, I know right? However, this one just exuded that ‘just right’ warmth, love and fun…that hug-in-a-mug feeling. It was full of laughter, a hint of nerves, brimming with handmade details (every place setting had a cork…every bottle drunk by the couple themselves over about 2 years!) and adoring loved ones who just…simply kicked back and enjoyed. I had met up with this dynamic duo just a couple of days before their wedding and whilst a little nervous, they soon warmed and talked excitedly about their plans. Just two days later and I was soon in Cathryn’s family home where she prepared for the day. I had slight dress envy, I admit, over the soft fishtail and ivory lace gown Cathryn had chosen – it suited her perfectly and she looked so, so beautiful. The couple had decided to marry at St Margaret’s Church in Ifield, a church close to Cathryn’s heart and family. Their reception was just a minute’s walk at the end of the church path at the Ifield Barn Theatre where a marquee sat in the grounds. Guests were treated to a gorgeous afternoon tea by the lovely, Jacqueline Wise, and later a hog roast with all the trimmings. It was a wonderfully relaxed day and guests soon spilled out onto the lawns with drinks, kicked off their shoes as the sun began to set and the band began to play for the evening dancing. Utter bliss! Thanks for having me there with you!
