Dorton House Wedding Photography | Charlotte & Samuel

‘We looked at, what seemed liked, hundreds of local wedding photographers and never seemed to find what we were looking for. Then we came across a little diamond. She was absolutely perfect in every way. She was quick to respond to all our questions with friendliness and charm, as well as so many useful tips. We really cannot tell you how much Laura did for us in terms of making our day magical and perfect. Not only did she capture some perfect moments which we will treasure forever, but she just made the whole day run so smoothly! We honestly mean it when we say the day was made even more prefect by having her there; she does so much more. From the bottom of our hearts Laura, we will be forever grateful for everything you did…you are an absolute star in every way!’

Whilst it’s not for everyone, I actually really love that I get to travel around in my wedding photography and get to experience new venues like Dorton House. In essence a school day-to-day, this Jacobean mansion is located in the heart of beautiful rural Buckinghamshire.

Tucked away behind the mansion is the beautiful 12thCentury Dorton Church where Charlotte and Sam chose to marry. Such a pretty and cosy little church that just gives you a hug!

I spent a lovely morning with Charlotte and her bridemaids. To be honest it was a really emotional one from excitement to happy tears and as it should be too! What I didn’t realise is just how emotional this day would be!

My lovely second photographer, Samantha captured Sam at the venue as they added final touches of decor and headed to the church.

After a super heartwarming ceremony, everyone made the short walk to the grounds of Dorton House for drinks in the sunshine. Soon enough, everyone took their seats in The Saloon for speeches that saw most of us in tears…yep, even me! Sam struggled to hold it together as he spoke adoringly of Charlotte. Honestly, it doesn’t matter how many weddings I’ve shot now, a bloody good speech will always have me welling up too!

Charlotte and Sam’s wedding day was a real heart-worn-on-sleeves day and one they put their thoughtful stamp on. As teachers, they married at a school, place settings were individually drawn by their pupils which delighted guests, favours of hand-blended tea by the couple and donations to charities that were close to their hearts too. It just was and effortlessly too.

It was a beautiful and elegant day full of thoughtfulness. Charlotte and Samuel were simply an absolute joy to capture and I’m honoured to have been a part of it. Their photos say it all though…
