Oh, words really cannot begin to describe just how breathtaking Laura and Stuart’s wedding at Cripps Barn was. I’m not going to lie I had absolute wedding envy and I’m not sure that EVER going to go away!
I was actually second photographer for my lovely, Chris, so I got to hang out with the gents at Stuart’s family home to begin with before following them over to the everso beautiful Cripps Barn near Bibury in the Cotswolds. The Gloucestershire countryside is breathtaking and the grounds at Cripps Barn are stunning in autumn with colours of orange, yellow and green in abundance…it’s one of my most favourite seasons to shoot.
Laura soon arrived and looked so enchanting in a two-piece boho-style gown, delicate vintage veil and flower circlet. Stuart mirrored the essence of the season with a brown, tweed three-piece suit, accompanied with vintage gold heirlooms. These two couldn’t have complemented each other more. Bridesmaids, flowergirls and pageboys wore shades of berries complementing the style of the day too.
A gorgeously sweet and meaningful ceremony meant this gorgeous duo were soon wed and the couple with their guests spilled out on to the terrace to take in bubbles, nibbles and the autumnal sunlight. Then we took a walk to the woodland with Laura and Stuart for their couple shots. This time of year means the sun is low and it just manages to illuminate the colours of autumn so beautifully, and their photos too.
The couple chose Halloween to get married and their styling was simply elegant with metallic accents, foliage, blooms and pumpkins of all shapes and sizes scattered about to give that nod to All Hallows Eve. A ‘barn in the Cotswolds’ is always going to be pretty special to be fair, but if it is a relaxed feel you want, with incredible food and great service, Cripps Barn is the place for you. Known for their whole BBQ’d lambs (amongst other delights, but chosen by the couple), they only use the best ingredients and serve it simply – generally in a feast style, on boards and in bowls to the centre of the tables. I still dream and swoon daily for this food! Laura & Stuart’s table plan was even based around the meal!
A twinkling candlelit dance floor was set in the barn ready for the couple’s first dance, confetti and evening’s festivities. Sparklers were soon at the ready by the humungous fire pit which also allowed guests to keep warm by the dancing fire and toast fluffy marshmallows too.
An unforgettable day with a beautiful couple who just captivated the very essence of a perfect wedding day very simply. I gush ridiculously over this wedding and I don’t care…take me back now!!!
I’m in love with this kind of photography.
