Christina & Mike’s Summer Wedding at Bartholomew Barn
‘Laura captured both our wedding photos and also our engagement photos. We really love both sets of photos and they will be a great reminder of this special time forever. Laura was really patient with us, as neither were particularly comfortable in front of the camera and were quite new to it all. She put myself and a rather reluctant groom at ease. Our pictures are framed really beautifully and we have a great mix of both formal and informal photos from our big day. We particularly love the informal pictures as they really tell the story of our big day! I would highly recommend Laura to anyone seeking a more relaxed wedding photo style and I knew when I saw her work that she was the right photographer for us. A huge thank you Laura!!’
~ Christina & Mike
It had been a while since I last shot at Bartholomew Barn, so when Christina and Mike emailed me to say they were getting married there and needed a photographer, I couldn’t wait to talk more with them. The couple had a relaxed, summer, rustic barn wedding planned and Bartholomew Barn is soooo lovely for this. They naturally wanted their photos to reflect this vibe too. We met a few months before their wedding day to have a fun little engagement shoot amongst the blossom. You can see that here.
Christina and her girls got ready at the Old Tanneries which has gorgeous décor and cosiness that would be great any time of the year. The light there was just so pretty – I could totally imagine Christmas there! Christina’s dad felt so comfy he had a nap all suited and booted…I mean, you have to conserve energy for a wedding, right?!
I love Bartholomew Barn as a lovely little oasis with its inner courtyard and koi pond – the couple loved it so much they decided to have their ceremony here. This tranquil wedding venue sits amidst rolling Sussex countryside and just feels so authentic. Frances, the venue’s owner is so wonderful too. Christina had her heart set on photos in the cornfields, so we all bundled into Frances’ 4×4 for the short hop when Christina’s feet were beginning to feel the throb. This was one of my favourite times of the day as it always is as they got a little down time together. I love capturing this bit where the formalities are done and I guess they get time to breathe and reflect a little.
A heady mix of cocktails and garden games kept guests entertained on the early summers evening before the dancefloor action really went to town. A seemingly nervous first dance soon erupted into wild abandon and animal dancing…just go scrolling and you’ll see what I mean! So much fun and I had such an awesome time with this lovely lot!
Huge shout out to a fabulous set of suppliers as I know quite a few of them well as they were at my own wedding and I knew they’d be perfect for Christina & Mike’s day too – *Steph, *Angel and *Ian…HUGS!
