Charlotte & Mark’s Wintery Whites Wedding at Nonsuch Mansion
Charlotte and Mark opted for a wedding on such a perfect winter’s day at Nonsuch Mansion
– crisp and clear with a glimmer of winter-y sunlight and a frost that twinkled in it.
always fills my heart with glee and I genuinely love shooting there. I began shooting there when I used to work with my photographer husband, Chris and it has always been a favourite. This time I got to work alongside the awesome Kate and Steve of Skinny Boy Films
too. The Nonsuch team, food and service are awesome and teamed with pretty darn gorgeous surroundings…you’ve got a fabulous wedding day ahead!
Charlotte’s preparations began in the calming Dressing Room at Nonsuch. Even with a flurry of hair and make-up artists, bridesmaids, mums, flower girls and pageboys, the room and more importantly, Charlotte felt serene. Typically for me, I dip in and out – shooting detail in various quirky places and popping myself in a corner to capture the laughter, the hugs, the hair in rollers and quiet moments of contemplation.
Now, normally a bride in a White by Vera Wang
strapless tulle dress would naturally be stunning alone, but Charlotte’s Aruna Seth
shoes nearly came home with me! Of course, Mark and his groomsmen looked super sharp in blue suits.
It has to be said, the weather really did come up trumps as the style for the day was ‘winter whites’ – it couldn’t have been more perfect! After a wonderful ceremony in the sunlit bay window of the Orchid Room, guests headed out through the South Porch where they showered Charlotte and Mark with petals of confetti. I stole them both away for some photos in the grounds of Nonsuch Park before we lost the light to the winter’s evening whilst guests nibbled on delicious canapés and sipped on expertly poured champagne in the Library and the Rose Room with fires lit.
Before long, guests took their seats for dinner in the transformed Orchid Room which looked cosily pretty with silver candelabra adorned with white gypsophila, pastel lisianthus and roses by the lovely Flowers by Design
. Speeches naturally took to embarrassing Mark in the main, but then came the surprise guest…Dougie is a handsome and cheeky chap who steals many a heart. Dougie is none other than Charlotte’s other man, her dog and it clearly made her day to have him there on their wedding day, albeit for a quick hello before he was whisked off again.
The dance floor beckoned before long and guests danced the night away to the sounds expertly spun by First Dance DJ
who will always get the dance floor kicking. A very happy day indeed!
