Amy & John’s Summer Wedding at Sunbury Golf Club
‘OMG where do I start?! We absolutely LOVE the pictures – you are amazing!! Thank you so much for capturing our special day. You have given us exactly what we wanted and we are over the moon. I think there may be a few more weddings in the pipeline after ours – everyone has not stopped talking about how much fun they had and I think it’s become contagious. Aside from your wonderful work, you are such a joy to have around and you made us all feel so comfortable (even the grumpy groom and his niece) and it shows in the pictures. The individual shots you got of the grumpy flower girl literally bought a tear to my eye – I can’t believe you got her to smile AND giggle! We literally cannot thank you enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times over!’
~ Amy & John
Little did I know that when I met Amy & John that their whole family would be so blummin’ awesome…but more on this in later blogs! We met over coffee and chatted excitedly about their day. I was so pleased they booked! Fast forward to their day on a typical British summer’s day in June and bridal prep was a hive of activity with my biggest bridal part yet of 11 very beautiful bridesmaids – I found myself particularly smug when I was told I’d never get flower girl, Paige, to smile…challenge accepted!!! Granted she resisted in that teen way that we all did growing up, but getting that gorgeous giggle was a highlight!
Amy and John married at St James’ of Hampton Hill, a slender and very beautiful building and oh my, did Amy look so summer vintage beautiful in a lace illusion neckline wedding gown and pretty flowers in her up do hair as she walked the aisle with her dad. After their ceremony, guests boarded a Routemaster bus and headed to Sunbury Golf Club followed by Pearl the VW Camper which took the couple to their reception. Drinks flowed on the terrace as people soaked up the early summer sunshine before heading to the beamed reception room for dinner and much partying.
Oooh and I must mention the bridal bouquet toss…these girls took no prisoners when they limbered up for battle. Bridesmaid Donna took the prize and a worthy one it was too as little did we both know at the time, but Donna was also to be one of my brides! Keep an eye on the blog for more on her day.
A fun day was had by all – the best men couldn’t wait to do their thing and naturally target John with as much humorous dirt as possible and after a a few drinks, their was a little mischievous gold buggy capers across the course much to the delight of the kids…big and little!
Heading across the course with Amy and John was lovely. The skies clouded a little and there was a soft breeze, but these two took time out and capturing that time was gorgeous. What a super gorgeous day with lovely, lovely people!
